HOB SALONS' ART TEAM PREDICT THE LATEST HAIR TRENDS

As we leave the warmer months behind, autumn/ winter 10 is going to see some exciting new trends that are certain to brighten both our wardrobe and locks. With texture, accessories and colour galore, autumn/winter is sure to be one of the most exciting seasons yet, moving on from the soft and delicate of SS 10, the cooler season is set to bring a darker, sultrier tones, with locks oozing a rustic femininity.

STATEMENT STYLES

Moving forward, nineties grunge will be a key trend, with under-groomed tresses, rebellious texture and extreme side partings. This dominated the Alexander Wang catwalk and is sported by celebrities such as Mary-Kate Olsen and Kate Moss, grunge is back with a vengeance.

Along with the nineties, comes Parisian Glamour. This will see mane's looking more natural, with a softer feel and a variety of 'up-do's' from the dishevelled side ponytail, flyaway low bunches, or the pristine top knot. Along with these doo's, the accessory is going to be a must-have for the autumn/winter, whether it be the classic Alice band, the extravagant turban, or the ever elegant fur hat, your tresses must be decorated to perfection this season.

CRISP COLOUR

With cooler temperatures ahead, this season's colour is going to be rich and vibrant for all palettes. Last season saw the introduction of a much softer and more feminine colour palette oozing pastel tones and working with seamless placement. Moving on for AW 10, the focus will remain on that soft and delicate palette, but with much richer tones that will be fused together harmoniously to create beautiful colour results.

This time round reds will be opting for velvety shades, burgundy hues and rich Aztec coppers. Brunettes will be taking it richer with a combination of shades to give greater depth to their colour, working with leather browns, hazelnut hues, matte conker and midnight black as seen on celebrities including Daisy Lowe. For blondes keep on trend with an infusion of different tones such as cotton white, oyster, pearl, chinchilla, tea rose, pewter and sand, shades frequently seen on the Olsen twins.
