HOB Academy host the Fellowship Clubstar evening

On Monday September 26th, the HOB Academy in Camden opened its doors for its annual Clubstar evening in association with the Fellowship of British Hairdressing. The event, which sold out in days, with a strong waiting list, started at 7pm. The HOB Creative Team, alongside HOB Educators presented live demonstrations in cutting, colour and long hair dressing, culminating in a finale of all the models.

The evening began with a welcome from HOB Salons Director Clive Collins, before HOB Creative Team members Jake Unger, Ian Rotman and Sean Nolan took the stage.

The Creative Team explained their current take on hair, and how they are working much more towards a “lived in” style, with both colours and cuts. With the three models on the stage, Ian Rotman led the demonstrations with a curly shape, using various disconnections to create a classic, but quirky style. For Technical Educator Sean Nolan, he reinforced that as colour technicians, we need to find the beauty in the process- a simple technique beautifully executed. Jake Unger worked on a Mod look, taking his inspiration from the 1980’s. He spoke about taking into account both the bad and the good when you inherit a haircut.

Next on stage were British Colour Technician of the Year 2015 Issie Churcher and HOB Educator Chris May. Chris introduced one of Akin Konizi ’s models and emphasised the importance that colour plays alongside a strong haircut.

Amelia Evans, HOB Educator and 2015  F.A.M.E. Team member, worked on a long hair look that exampled what can be expected on the Long Hair Courses available at the HOB Academy.
