Akin Konizi, HOB Salons International Creative Director, has been announced as a Nominee for the prestigious British Hairdresser of the Year title at HJ’s British Hairdressing Awards 2026, sponsored by Schwarzkopf Professional.

Widely regarded as the ultimate individual accolade in UK hairdressing, the British Hairdresser of the Year title celebrates exceptional creativity, technical excellence and industry influence. This nomination places Akin among the leading creative talents in British hairdressing and recognises their contribution to shaping the future of the industry.

Recognised for their distinctive creative vision, technical expertise and inspirational body of work, Akin Konizi now joins an elite group of nominees competing for one of the most respected honours in global hairdressing.

As part of the next stage of the competition, nominees will submit a collection of eight photographic images created within the past 12 months, showcasing their creativity, technical ability and artistic direction. Collections will be judged by a distinguished panel of leading industry experts alongside UK and international beauty and consumer media.
