SERVICES

Semi Permanent &
PERMANENT COLOUR

Permanent colour is ideal for covering grey hair, making significant colour changes or creating a long-lasting colour. Unlike semi-permanent colours, which wash out over time, permanent colour stays vibrant and doesn’t fade easily. As your hair grows after your permanent colour you’ll see a harsher regrowth as opposed to a semi permanent which fades out of the hair softly and creates a less obvious regrowth. A major difference to note is that a permanent colour will give you 100% full coverage in comparison to a semi permanent providing 50% to 75% grey coverage. Having a free consultation with one of our expert colourists will allow you to work out what product is best for you, your lifestyle and your hair needs.
How long does a semi permanent last?
A semi-permanent colour lasts between 15 to 20 washes depending on your hair’s porosity and how often you’re washing it.

Do you have ammonia free colour?
Yes we do! Our semi-permanent range is gentle, ammonia free and is still able to cover up to 75% of your grey hair. In order to achieve a full coverage result, a permanent colour would be necessary.

My greys have come through around my hairline after a couple of weeks, what can I do?
In the salon we offer a hairline and parting tinting service which will allow you to cover all the necessary areas in between your big salon appointments.
- Hairline & Parting Root Tint - from £36

- Semi-Permanent Gloss (roots only) - from £46

- Semi-Permanent Gloss (roots to end) from £59

- Root Tint (regrowth) - from £52

- Full Head Tint (roots to end) - from £61

Click BOOK NOW to see our full price lists.

We recommend that in order to upkeep your permanent colour you would need to return for a touch up between 6 to 8 weeks. Whereas a semi- permanent colour would need to be topped up between 8 to 10 weeks due to the softer regrowth. In order to maintain your colour professional home care products are essential. A colour save shampoo or colour pigmented mask will enhance your colour, shine and enhance the overall health of your hair.

Highlights

Highlights can be used to create a bespoke look for each individual client. They can be used to add brightness, dimension and texture. A colour created with highlights can be as natural or as bold as you wish and all depends on your commitment to your hair’s maintenance, the health of your hair and your hair’s history with colour. A highlighting service isn’t restricted to naturally light clients as darker haired clients can enhance their naturally dark hair with a shimmer of lightness to create an unique and expensive result.
Do I have to have bleach in my highlights?
Bleach is not required in your highlights but some looks may require bleach to get you to your ultimate goal. If you have previously coloured your hair and want to achieve a lighter result, using a form of bleach may be required.

How can I stop my hair from fading and turning yellow?
Unfortunately, hair fading is unavoidable however using a silver shampoo, colour pigmented conditioner or having a toning service in between your appointments can help greatly.

Do I have to have a full head every service?
If you are changing your colour completely it is advised to have a full head of highlights in order to create an even canvas. However, a t-section or half a head can help to maintain your colour as a full head every service may be putting unnecessary stress on your hair.

Do I have to have a toner after my highlights?
A toner after your highlights is not essential but may be required to achieve your desired result. On top of this, a toner will help to promote your hair’s health and shine.

Will having highlights damage my hair?
Our colourists at HOB are highly trained and skilled in achieving your colour dreams without compromising your hair. When performed with precision and care no highlighting service should become detrimental to the health of your hair.
- T-Section - from £71

- Half Head - from £99

- Full Head - from £123

- Back to Back Foiling - from £40

- Individual Foiling - £8 per foil

In order to ensure your hair stays healthy it is essential to use professional home care that will keep your hair hydrated, smooth and shiny. Visiting the salon for a toner in between your highlighting services can prolong your colour as well as add a high impact shine.

Toning

A toner is used to adjust or refine the final hair colour. It helps to neutralise unwanted tones such as orange or yellow and can enhance the overall shade by making it cooler, warmer or more natural, depending on what you’re aiming for. Toners don’t last as long as a permanent colour, typically fading after a few weeks, so visiting the salon in between colour services in order to upkeep your tone may be required.
Will a toner make my hair darker?Whilst a toner has the ability to make the hair darker, it doesn’t necessarily have to have that effect on your hair. It is important to note that when creating an ashier result the colour will appear darker due to the heaviness of an ash colour.

Will a toner damage my hair?
No it won’t, in fact our toners contain conditioning ingredients to not only promote shine but also a healthier head of hair!
- Toning Services - from £30

A toner can be used every 4 to 6 weeks so a quick visit to the salon between appointments can ensure your colour is long lasting and allows you and your colourist to make any adjustments if needed.

Balayage &
CONTOURING

A balayage uses the natural hair and root to blend seamlessly into lighten tones within your hair. The size of the root can vary and all depends on your desired result. When it comes to balayaging the possibilities are endless. For super soft results a freehand technique with no foil would lift the hair slightly and create a shimmer within the hair. An extension of the balayage is a foilyage where foils are also used in order to lift the hair lighter and create a higher contrast look.
How long does a balayage service take?
Depending on the result you’re trying achieve, you can expect to be in the salon between 3 to 4 hours.

How long does a balayage last for?The nature of a balayage allows you to go longer in between appointments with some clients coming every 4-6 months. However, if you’re having a face framing service or a smaller root, coming back into the salon after 3 months is great for a refresh service.

Can I still have a root touch up and not affect my balayage?
Yes, it is possible to touch your roots up as well as have your balayage service. Please note that this will add to the appointment time, cost and frequency of your appointments.

Do I need to have a root melt with my balayage?
Although a root melt isn’t essential with traditional freehand balayaging techniques, a root melt will help to achieve a super soft blend especially if you have a dark natural colour and are wanting a super light result.
- Balayage - from £122

- Balayage & root tint - from £158

- Balayage refresh - from £53

- Face-framing - from £106

- Colour Correction - on quotation

Bleaching

A bleaching service is used to create an overall lighter shade that is solid rather than dimensional like a highlight. It is a high maintenance and high impact look that can be customised to look natural or bright and bold with a creative colour over the top. It’s important to note that scalp bleach can be quite intense on the scalp and hair, so we use professional products and techniques to protect your hair and skin.
Will a bleaching service damage my hair?
The use of bleach will not necessarily damage your hair. However, the overuse or misuse of bleach can take a toll on your hair. Our colour technicians at HOB are extremely skilled in colour services that will keep your hair in its best condition.

How long will a bleaching service take?
A full bleaching service can vary in time depending on your starting point. We recommend that you speak to one of our expert colourists before you appointment to understand the ins and outs of your hair service.

How often do I need to be in the salon?
An all over bleaching service is high maintenance and in order to keep a consistent colour throughout you hair, a visit every 6 weeks to the salon is essential.

There are a few colours in my hair, how can we tackle that?
This would be classed as a corrective service. In order to give you a better idea of the appointment time, the service and price, having a consultation with one of our colourists is recommended.
